Shapeways produced a short video on us! The video was filmed by Stephan Malik who showed up direct from the airport with nothing more than a suitcase of dSLR cameras and spent the better part of a day filming us and picking our brains in the studio. Somehow he condensed his hours of footage into a minute and half of video set to cool music. You can watch it above.
We are also featured in print in Boston Home magazine where they ran an article on our studio in Somerville. You can read it online here: Geek Chic. Special thanks to Lindsay Tucker who wrote the article and the excellent Ken Richardson who spent a day at the studio photographing it!
We visited the design store at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC yesterday and are happy to announce that our jewelry is now for sale there! They are carrying 8 different styles including our work in 3d-printed nylon, stainless steel, and silicone rubber. The pieces available are the the Wave Bracelet, 2-layer center ring, 1-layer twist ring, Perlin necklace, Root Earrings, Radiolaria Brooch, Dendrite Brooch and Radiolaria Necklace. Right now they are available at two MoMA store locations: in SoHo on Spring Street and at the Design store on 53rd Street. They will be available on the website later in the season.
We were also happy to have our work included in the Oct/Nov 2010 edition of the German magazine Weave. Cedric Kiefer wrote, what we can only assume is a delightful article since we do not speak german, on Generative 3-d design that features pieces from our cell cycle and xylem collections.
Several blog articles also recently appeared about Nervous System, including :
Dendrite earrings (24kt gold plated) are featured in this month’s Lucky Magazine
The article features the favorite items of electro-pop singer Olga Bell who says “I mostly buy jewelry in antique shops, but I really like these – they’re inspired by coral.” I’ve never heard of Olga Bell before, but she is clearly a cool chick. Thanks for picking us Olga!
Our silicone rubber radiolaria necklace and bracelet appear in the November edition of the United airlines inflight magazine Hemispheres. It’s our favorite of the airline mags and the spread is beautifully styled and shot. If you are flying United sometime soon, check out your seat pocket!
Finally had a chance to stop by a news stand and pick up a copy of I.D. June’s edition features a picture of our Radial II Necklace is grey and an article about on demand manufacturing. I think we might owe this one to Derek at Ponoko. Thanks!

A few months ago we did an interview over email with a journalist from El Pais, which Wikipedia dubs “the most widely-circulated daily newspaper in Spain.” Last week it was finally published! You can read the article (in Spanish) here:
