![](http://www.tumblr.com/share/photo?source=https%3A%2F%2Fn-e-r-v-o-u-s.com%2Fprojects%2Fi.php%3F%2F000%2F899%2FIMG-2741-noflowers%2Clarge.1434721425.jpg&caption=%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3E%3Ca href="http%3A%2F%2Fn-e-r-v-o-u-s.com%2Fprojects%2Findex.php%3F%2Falbums%2Ffloraform-jewelry%2F" title="Florescence jewelry"%3EFlorescence jewelry%3C/a%3E%3C/strong%3E%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%E2%80%99ve+generated+a+jewelry+collection+with+the+Floraform+system.+For+each+piece%2C+we+crafted+a+unique+growth+process+that+results+in+a+specific+emergent+form.+The+flowering+structures+expand+fastest+along+their+edges%2C+evolving+from+simple+surfaces+to+flexuous+forms+that+fill+space+with+curves%2C+folds%2C+and+ruffles.+There+are+24+new+designs+which+come+in+3D-printed+nylon+and+sterling+silver+and+are+available+in+our+shop.%0A%0AThe+collection+explores+how+different+starting+geometries+interact+with+the+growth+process+to+produce+the+final+pieces.+We+use+contact+with+the+body+as+an+environmental+constraint%2C+producing+designs+that+conform+to+or+expand+from+the+finger%2C+wrist%2C+and+neck.%0A%0AWe+developed+two+primary+strategies+for+growth+resulting+in+two+lineages+of+jewelry+forms.+One+set+is+inspired+by+the+forms+of+flowers.+These+pieces+have+curling%2C+convoluted+forms+and+our+explorations+focused+on+the+creation+of+symmetry+or+its+absence.%0A%0AThe+other+set+was+inspired+by+the+frilly+arms+of+jellyfish.+These+pieces+have+a+scale+that+changes+throughout+the+process%2C+producing+waves+on+waves+on+waves.+They+also+incorporate+directional%2C+gravity-like+forces%2C+resulting+in+a+more+elongated+draping+of+form+with+dripping+cascades+of+ruffles.%0A%0AThere+are+also+hybrid+pieces+where+these+two+methodologies+interweave%2C+like+the+celosia+cuff+and+flora+collar.%0A%0AOur+intricate+designs+are+materialized+via+3D+printing+in+plastic+and+metal.+Most+of+the+pieces+are+available+in+white%2C+petal+pink%2C+or+black+nylon+that+has+been+fused+together+from+powder%2C+layer+by+layer%2C+in+a+3D-printing+process+called+Selective+Laser+Sintering.+There+are+also+designs+available+in+sterling+silver.+These+are+first+3D-printed+in+wax+and+then+cast+in+precious+metal+by+lost+wax+casting.%3C/p%3E&click_thru=http%3A%2F%2Fn-e-r-v-o-u-s.com%2Fprojects%2Findex.php%3F%2Falbums%2Ffloraform-jewelry%2F){kind=link}
